I have been employed by the University of Essex, the Créa Institute of Applied Macroeconomics at the University of Lausanne, and the Bulgarian National Bank. Claudio Milano is a social anthropologist with a background in economics. He is a Senior Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Barcelona and he is Co-Chair of the Commission on the Anthropology of Tourism of the (IUAES). His primary area of expertise lies into political economy of tourism. His research focuses on the dynamics of touristification processes, exploring how societies respond to and resist these changes through social movements,
